Movie Night at the Park

Over the weekend, my family and I went to a movie night in our neighborhood park. The park is located high on top of a mountain. From the park, I could see the beautiful view of the mountains, homes, and best of all the sunset.

When we first came, we ran around and played in the park. Two friends from school live close by, and they also came to watch the movie. We all sat on the grass and had a picnic with pizza, cookies, and red vine licorice.

The movie started when the sun began to set. There was a huge blow up screen on which the movie was shown. This was my first time viewing a movie outside. It was extremely hot in the day, but at night it got chilly. Thankfully, my mom packed pants and sweaters for us to wear. When the sun set, we saw numerous stars shinning above.

The movie was called Daddy Daycare. This was my first time seeing this movie,  and I thought it was hilarious. The movie was about two fathers who try to start a daycare at there house. At first, the kids go out of control and don't listen. Finally the kids really like the daycare, and the two fathers learn to take care of the children and even teach them many new things.

Have you ever seen a movie outside?
Did you like it?
What is your favorite movie?

  1. Dear Sarah,

I really enjoyed reading this post. It sounds like you had heaps of fun.

I have never been to watch a movie at night although it sounds like heaps of fun. Some how I feel here in Australia I would be eaten alive with mosquitos.

My favourite movies is "Never Ending Story" and as well as "Diary of a Wimpy Kid".

Have you ever watched the above movies Sarah.

    Happy holidays.

    1. Dear AA,

Thank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment! I appreciate all of the wonderful comments you always leave on my blog.

I have never seen the above movies, but my sister Miriam has read the book series Diary of a Wimpy Kid and liked it. I will ask my mom to rent us those movies.

I hate mosquitoes but luckily I didn't get bitten very much this summer.

      Sincerely,
      Sarah

  2. Dear Sarah

I can't remember ever attending an outdoors movie but it is something I have wanted to do ever since I saw the movie in the park scene in The Wedding Planner.

Your evening sound lovely, from playing in the park to the pizza to the beautiful view and stunning sunset and then the movie to top it all off. How wonderful to watch a movie under the stars!

You are right, Daddy Day Care is an hilarious movie! I have many favourite movies so I will mention just a few. I love old classics like The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Mary Poppins; I also love good productions of Jane Austen novels including Pride & Prejudice (the 5.5hr version), Emma, and Sense & Sensibility; I have to mention the Harry Potter series; and lastly my current favourite is An American President. Do you like any of these movies?

Enjoy the rest of your holidays, Sarah.

  4. Dear Sarah

Unfortunately I have never been to a movie outside before, but I would love to!

Your evening sounded wonderful! It must have been really cool having pizza then watching a movie on the big screen outside. Was it cool when you were outside?

I have seen Daddy Daycare before and it is so funny, especially when he cannot keep up with the children.

I have seen a lot of movies that are funny such as Mary Poppins, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Despicable Me, Spy Kids 1 and 2, but the funniest movie I have ever seen is Hop.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays!

  5. Dear Cody,

Thank you so much for leaving me such a lovely and long comment. I have also seen Mary Poppins but I have never seen Hop. What is it about? I also really like the Sound of Music. It has the same actress, Julie Andrews, as in Mary Poppins. I think you will like this movie too.

    Sincerely,
    Sarah

  6. Hello Sarah. I am a teacher in Iowa and I came across your blog and I was intrigued by the post about the outside movie. During this past summer we had outside movie night at our house three times! We used a big white sheet, a projector and a computer to play the DVD. We watched Megamind, Annie and Dolphin Tale.

I was also in Boston this summer and watched an outdoor movie at Christopher Columbus Park.

I hope you have a wonderful school year.
