Our pool |
When we arrived, it was already noon, and the tide was high. Usually, the weather at the beach is colder, and there is a nice breeze. Today, however, the sun was shining and the air was very still. We spent most of the time in the water to cool off . Soon the tide went back and left us with soft wet sand. This left us plenty of room to make a pool large enough to fit everyone. We also went boogie boarding on the waves. I practiced some gymnastics and played frisbee with my mom and brother. Best of all, we laid down on the cool sand and let the sun warm us up. It was a splendid way of spending time off of school.
The weather has been really strange. Just last week it was raining and my aunt took this fabulous photo of a rainbow.

What do you you like to do on your day off?
Dear Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI really reading about your wonderful day you had at the beach. Your photos were great and from looking also at the photos you sure can tell it was a fun filled day.
Your choice of going to the beach on such a hot day was a great way to hopefully keep nice and cool.
On my days off I love going for long drives specially around our wonderful coast line here in Geelong. I really love visiting some of our local beaches too.
Thank you for sharing with us all your wonderful post.
Cheers from your friend,
AA :)
Dear AA,
DeleteThank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment! I appreciate all of the wonderful comments you always leave on my blog!
Is the water warm at the beaches you go to?
Sincerely,
Sarah
@ Sarah,
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be at the beach in the fall! It certainly has been hot!
I actually did not have Monday off. Instead, I attended and presented at our district's Staff Development Day. My topic was Blogging and the Google Teacher Academy. I see so many wonderful benefits of blogging and am hoping that more teachers will start blogging. I Skyped in Mrs. Morris for a section of it. She did a super job and it was 6:50 in the morning on Tuesday for her!
I love your aunt's picture of the rainbow. I got one too!
I miss you!
Mrs. Y♥llis
Dear Mrs. Yollis,
DeleteThank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment. It is really nice that you skyped with Mrs. Morris. I can't believe it was 6:50 A.M. That is really early. I don't think any of the teachers at my school blog, but maybe they will start after hearing your presentation.
I miss seeing you at recess and lunch, and I will stop by again soon.
Sincerely,
Sarah
P.S Thank you for tweeting out my post.
Dear Sarah,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend a bonus day off. Even though teachers' staff development days are great ways for teachers to keep up to date, I think they might have been a little jealous of the fun you had. However, I can see Mrs. Yollis used her day very wisely and was able to Skype with Mrs. Morris.
These days I don't go to staff development days but have been asked if I would be willing to do a session on photography and photo editing on a future day. It seems I might again be at school for a day when children are off. It should be fun.
What do I like to do on a day off? As a retired teacher, you might say I now have every day off. You might be able to tell what I like to do, I like to visit blogs and leave comments. :)

Dear RossMannel,
DeleteThank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment. I appreciate all of the lovely comments you always leave on my blog.
I could really benefit from a class on photography. Sometimes my photos don't come out very well. It is hard for me to keep the camera still. It is nice that you can do whatever you want now that you are retired. Do you ever get bored being home?
Sincerely,
Sarah
@ Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to write back to me.
As for your question right at this given time the water is rather cold however summer will soon arrive and the beach water will be just perfect for a nice splash.
