My Spring Break

Over Spring Break, we went on a road trip in a recreational vehicle. Over our trip we drove a total of 2,000 miles and through 4 states, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.  We started our trip in Southern California and then drove through Nevada, into Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. We continued north towards Utah, and stopped at Lake Powell located near the border of Arizona and Utah.  After spending a few hours at the lake, we continued into Utah and visited Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.  We then drove west to Nevada and crossed into Death Valley located in California.  From there, we continued west into central California where we made our final stop at the hot springs. After such a long trip, we were all happy to get home to Southern California.

Here are the posts that Miriam and I wrote about our trip. If you click on the name, you can find out more information about each location.

  1. Dear Sarah,

I love the summary of your Spring Break. What a great place to add a poll!

Although it was very difficult for me to choose, I finally voted for Zion National Park. I have been to all of the locations, except the hot springs, and Zion National Park was my favorite of all. I remember walking the Virgin River back a mile or two to the part called the "Narrows" and I'll never forget the beauty.

It will be fun to see which stop gets the most votes!

Do you know any facts about the National Park system?

    1. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment. I was surprised that you picked Zion National Park because I thought you would pick Grand Canyon. Zion National Park has the most votes right now.

I don't know which I would pick because I loved all of these National Parks.

      Sincerely,
      Sarah

  3. Dear Sarah,
I really enjoyed our trip to visit the national parks. When we first started, I was sure that my favorite would be the Grand Canyon, and it was the park that I was looking forward to seeing the most. When I was your age, my parents took me on a similiar trip, and at that time, the Grand Canyon was the most memorable. On this trip however, I think I enjoyed Zion National Park best. The weather was just perfect, and the Virgin River was spectacular.

    I love you,
    mom

  5. Dear Sarah,

What a great post for I loved the fact you gave your fellow bloggers the opportunity to pick which one was there favourite post.
Mind you after a long discussion amongst BB and I and her dad all three of us have picked Death Valley.

We feel that the reason why we loved this post and Mrs Yollis is because it's so amazing how plants, animals, can survive under such hass conditions. As you know it is the one place that BB and her dad really want to visit when they make a trip to the USA.

Thank you for bringing your spring break to us down under.
Are you finishing up school soon Sarah?
Are you planning any more trips soon with your family?

Please say hello to your mum from BB and me.

    Take care,
    from your pal down under,
    AA

  6. Dear Sarah !
We*ve read your posts about your travelling through some states with great interest.
You described different natural zones very well : the unique Grand Canyon, two nation parks in state Utah and the
desert in Death Valley. Your description of the mountains
    and vallies,rivers and lakes,animals and vegetations,soils
and weather condition with all your pictures are absolutely
    amaizing.
We never visited these places but you gave us a feeling
as if we were with you!

    Dear Sarah,

We like the Zion National Park post and a lot of people voted on it. We enjoyed the poll you put up because you can see what most people like. Apparently, Hot Springs, Traveling by RV, and Lake Powell were the least favorites. We still loved reading all the posts.

When will your next poll be?
Why do you think most people chose Zion National Park?

    Sincerely,
    Acacia and Alexandra

    1. Dear Acacia and Alexandra,

Thank you so much for leaving me such lovely comments. I don't know why people chose Zion National Park most. Maybe they liked the Virgin River. I also really liked Lake Powell. It was beautiful. It would have been nice if the water was a little warmer.

I don't know when I will make another poll, but I hope I will do one soon.

      Your friend,
      Sarah
